Dr Fozia Saleem

Dr. Fozia Saleem is CEO of Magnitude Biosciences, a leading contract research
organisation serving the pharmaceutical, health and nutrition sectors to better
understand the effects of drugs and nutraceuticals on healthy ageing, longevity and
neurodegeneration.

With more than 20 years’ experience across the pharmaceutical, FMCG and life sciences
sectors, including leadership roles at GSK, BAT and Broughton, Fozia combines deep
scientific expertise with commercial and operational leadership. Her experience spans
R&D, product development, global product launches, commercialisation, fundraising
and business growth, with a track record of building and scaling ambitious businesses
and driving organisational transformation.

As CEO of Magnitude Biosciences, Fozia has led the company through significant growth
and strategic transformation, including the development and commercialisation of its
two patented machine learning platforms. She has also led multiple funding rounds,
working closely with investors, lawyers and other stakeholders to secure investment and
position the business for its next phase of scale.

The first in her family to pursue higher education, Fozia holds a First Class Honours
degree from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Molecular Physiology from the
University of Edinburgh. Her own journey has shaped a strong belief in the power of
education, opportunity and supportive leadership to open doors and enable people to
reach their potential.

Fozia is passionate about championing and supporting female leadership, particularly
through mentoring, sharing her own experience and helping create opportunities for
women to progress and thrive. She previously co-chaired The Lifted Project Newcastle
Board (now The Whole Point), supporting high growth female founders, and continues to
mentor and support women across science, entrepreneurship and leadership. She was
also named on the We Are Power Future List 2024 in recognition of her business
leadership.
